Sustainabilty

Sustainability is at the heart of our operations/manufacturing processes and we embrace the opportunity to work with others to achieve this. Our ambition is to be environmentally regenerative and our forward thinking approach allows us to get closer to positively affect climate change.

Boxes & Packaging:

An example of working well with others is through our partnership with one of our biggest corporate clients, which has resulted in an innovation to develop the production of our boxes. Here we have re-designed them to allow for their speedy collapsing and flattening. This flattening process now enables us to re-use the boxes and packaging up to 6 times over. Due to the high volumes delivered to current clients, re-using this packaging material makes a huge difference not only to the number of new boxes required, but contributes greatly to tackling the issues of climate change and the degradation of natural resources.

Plastic Wood:

We have untaken a project which is to be produce Plastic Wood. Here we will not only re-cycle the materials we get back from our clients, in the form of the empty cartridges we collect, but also from the materials we receive in from our suppliers, in the form of the toner bottles used to carry the toner powder.

Printer Maintenance:

As part of our preventative maintenance service, we endevour to keep printer hardware running for longer. This reduces the turnover of printers and takes more scrapped printers off the landfill sites.

Branded Originals v’s Impressions Re-Manufactured Cartridges:

A common objection/company policy is ‘we only use original cartridges in our printers’. Remembering the fact that branded original cartridges are both environmentally expensive and even more costly from a budget point of view, the ongoing battle is to change the above policy within companies / organisations and encourage them to do their bit in making an environmental difference.

Every re-manufactured cartridge sold and used by our clients removes from the market place a branded original consumable product which, to produce, is high in energy, has high emissions and is a drain on natural resources. We are achieving this more and more as our business grows. It is through further education and testing of our products that major corporates, using vast quantities of cartridges, are now ordering with confidence. This, in itself, makes a huge difference to the overall ecological footprint and also sponsors their wish to ensure that sustainability remains at the heart of their procurement process.

Spreading The Word To Buy Green:

Whilst maintaining a continual level of sustainability, we have achieved high success rates in actively encouaging companies to join us to think green. In doing so, they increase their profits by spending less and are buying green in the process.

In a world that is very aware of green issues, decisions on buying green represents a key part of company’s operational impact. Our motivation is to build on our awareness campaign. We aim to get the word out, to the most influential, that our cartridges are the best in the re-manufacturing market and significant savings/environmental benefits can be enjoyed just by having a little faith.

Future Development & Growth:

At the forefront of our future development plans is the Plastic Wood project. This will take cartridges which can no longer be used to re-manufacture and make use of their materials. A shredding process of the cartridge casing together with the shredded toner bottles when mixed creates the material Plastic Wood.

Future growth depends on spreading the word. The word that we are the ones with a high demand product within the corporate world, which, in it’s production, makes a significant difference by minimising the amount of energy, emissions and to the drain on natural resources.

In converting as many heavy users of printer cartridges as possible, the contribution to the wellfare of the environment will be massive. When just one original cartridge alone consumes 2 gallons of oil, it stands to reason that the re-manufacturing option is the way to go.

The primary aim is to change policy within the large organisations who say ‘we only use branded originals’. Moreover, talking to those who state in their Corporate and Social Responsibility that they will become climate positive and positively affect climate change; it is these who we plan to work with as they already have the desire to focus on the same issues as we are.
